Andrea B. O'Brien, Esq.

A common synonym for attorney is advocate, and Andrea O’Brien is especially that. Her niche is serving elderly clients and those with special needs who face legal hurdles that greatly impact their quality of life.

Andrea’s legal specialty includes guardianships, long-term care planning, special needs trusts, asset protection, and medical and nursing home challenges. She also guides parents in navigating school systems to obtain the proper special education services for their children.

“It’s a different dynamic with the clients, because you are more than practicing law, you feel like you are doing a good deed,” says Andrea.

At Lucas Law Group LLC, a new generation law firm founded on family tradition, Andrea applies her professionalism and compassion as a working mother to each client’s needs. Of counsel to the Firm, her range of services includes special needs planning, estate and asset protection planning, elder law, trust administration, probate administration, guardianships and conservatorships.

Andrea has practiced in the North Shore area for many years and recently managed a law office focusing on MassHealth eligibility. She is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and the Massachusetts Guardianship Association. Andrea also belongs to the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Women’s Bar Association of Massachusetts, and the Essex County Bar Association.

She holds a juris doctor from Suffolk University Law School in Boston and completed her undergraduate studies in criminal justice at Saint Anselm College in Manchester, N.H. Andrea lives with her two young sons in Haverhill.
