Welcome to our new blog, the Soup de Jure. It’s not a typo. In Latin, de jure means “concerning law” just as de facto means “concerning facts.”
We picked this title because we will serve you a stew of legal tips, interesting cases and legal trends, and our thoughts on how the legal system could be improved. We will post at least monthly, and invite you to join in the conversation.
And now for the legal disclaimer you knew was coming: You should not use this blog as a means to obtain legal advice, as there is no attorney-client relationship formed in this forum and nothing is confidential.
However, you may find some useful information here on buying your first home, understanding why a will might not be all that you need, or even learning how to handle a difficult dispute without engaging an attorney. (Imagine that, ideas from attorneys about how to avoid hiring attorneys.)
We will also post articles by expert colleagues, and we encourage you to send us articles you think are worthy of making their way onto the menu.
Enjoy, and Bon Appetite!
I like the idea of your blog. Your website is interesting and easy to navigate. It took a while but it looks like it was worth it. Best of luck in your new practice!!
